Somewhere Else | 2025

The impetus of this series was my interest in the idea of reworking some older paintings, using a minimalistic and stripped down approach. The result was a dreamlike facsimile of the originals. It was interesting to re-explore those paintings and see where I could exaggerate or mute the scenes using distilled colour and composition. as I reinhabited these real places. Once I established the methodology, I applied the process to new references and (to my delight) a parallel universe started to emerge.
